Today I have been working on a series of mini paintings with stitched collage. These are miniatures from my larger paintings. I made them specially for a project called "Pakje Kunst". Selected local artists offer representations of their bigger work in small cigaret package size boxes. You can the boxes from vending machines for 4 euro in all major cities in the Netherlands.
I varnished my new colorful series of collage with a UV protection. They will be framed and photographed in the next days. I am really pleased with the results. Framing them means I consider them finished and I really enjoy looking at them :-) They are a move from my earlier more monochromatic work. I am quite in a colorful mood lately with a lot of pinks and movement in my pieces...
I went back to my roots, being a collage artist
I went on playing with hand painted and hand printed papers, stitched them together, added more papers, some acrylic paint, cut them up, glued them together again.... had much fun. I have one framed but more coming up in the next days
I can't stop experimenting and playing in my sketchbooks. Because there is no urge to make a "real" painting there is no pressure only joy
I really enjoy just playing with paint, mixing colors, just see what happens
